The Role

We are seeking a Sales Leader with experience working in finance/mortgage markets to oversee the sales team function and assist the Chief Commercial Officer with sales strategy development and implementation.

Amongst other things you will:

Assist CCO in sales strategy development - developing strategic sales plans that expand the customer base and ensure the company maintains a strong presence across all verticals. Identify opportunities to increase performance and bring such opportunities to the attention of the CCO.
Keep informed of products and services - must have ability to develop knowledge of the products and services being offered as well as a working knowledge of their industry’s climate and competition to effectively implement the sales strategy.

Recruit train and coach the sales team:

  • Define sales job requirements, assist in the search for the best candidates and taking part in the interview process. 
  • Provide sales team members with tips and training to achieve a competitive edge in their industry. 
  • Orient the new sales staff and focus on improving the job performance and sales of existing staff.

Take accountability and become the voice of the team - listen, say what needs to be said, and speak loudly on the issues that matter.

Delegate tasks and set deadlines - Ensure that enquiries/new opportunities are distributed and actioned in accordance with company expectations. Know how to assign tasks to the team members with the best skills for the job and guide staff members to ensure the work is done well.

Set sales targets and motivate team:

  • Set daily, weekly, or monthly sales goals
  • Motivate employees to reach individual sales goals and encourage the staff to work better, rather than harder. 
  • Understand the importance of praising and rewarding team members who do a stellar job and implement bonus and prize programs or “employee of the month” achievements
  • Ensure your sales reps operate as a 10, as often as possible - Challenge the team to raise the bar over time, create a virtuous cycle of continuous improvement and a sense of progression, even for your top performers.
  • Carry out monthly One to One’s (bi-monthly One to One’s where under performance dictates)

Prepare and deliver sales reports to CCO - including complete call monitoring sessions on a weekly basis, team member performance and mission-related objectives.

Work closely with Customer Success & Customer Support Leads as one strong team to deliver on overall targets – cover for leads when required (holidays, sickness etc) 

You’ll be responsible for…

  • Developing strategic sales plans to expand customer subs base and ensure Unbiased maintains strong presence across all verticals
  • Achieve the department goals, sale targets and KPI’s through motivation and coaching 
  • Guide team members in ensuring customers are on the right plans and that they are providing excellent service to customers
  • Motivate sales reps to reach sales goals - train, encourage, inspire, and reward team members for their achievements (operate as a 10, as often as possible)

To succeed, you’ll need…

  • The ideal candidate could have 4+ years in sales and overseeing a sales team, and at least 1 year in a Senior Sales Manager role, preferably within a regulated environment such as Financial Services
  • Previous experience of overseeing a structured sales process 
  • Proven track record 
  • Coaching and mentoring skills  
  • Strong Communication, both written and verbal 
  • Time management and organisation skills 
  • Ability to deal with/influence key influencers and decision makers
